同样地，过度密集的“展示”缸似乎是各种刊物的最爱，也很吸引眼球，但不同种类生物这样密集在放一起是否真的合适？我觉得不合适。大多数珊瑚礁的珊瑚覆盖率大约是30-40%，其他部分由海绵，藻类和其他生物组成。我们的礁岩缸也应该如此。


不算太久以前，淡水领域也流行多种类密集饲养。不过现在，人们选择纯鲷缸，甚至是仅饲养非洲鲷，坦湖慈鲷或者七彩神仙。


我觉得，海水领域也该开始如此了。因为一个珊瑚的美就冲动购买的日子应该要结束了。虽然在一个缸里饲养不同种类珊瑚是可能的，但更“正确”的方法是要了解哪些种类是互相相容的，是来自相似的栖息地的。这很重要，不仅仅是为了维持正常的生物多样性和更好的成功机会，也是为了更加美观。现在就应该开始这样做了。
